Here are a couple pics of the Whitsunday Islands, which I am especially looking forward to!

Itinerary

Since we have been planning this trip for quite a long time, I have set-up a basic itinerary for us. Tim finally picked up the Australia book tonight! I was very impressed (-: He says that he really wants to visit a rainforest while we are there...I don't think that will be a challenge. We are leaving on Dec. 29th for A.U., but don't actually get to Sydney until Dec. 31st!

I found a really cute place for us to stay in Kings Cross. It is called Hotel 59. I booked this hotel in March and it was one of the last places left for this New Years Eve week/weekend. Kings Cross is said to be sort of like the "red light" district, but has tons of cute cafes, shops and nightclubs. Here is the website if you want to check it out. The hotel is known for its breakfast! http://www.hotel59.com.au/.

We are leaving from Sydney on Jan. 7th and flying into Auckland. We plan to stay there for 3 nights and then are taking a ferry to an island called Waiheke. This is suppose to be a hidden gem that the Aucklanders try to keep a secret, but they couldn't hide it from us! It has over 30 wineries and many beautiful beaches. We will be there for 3 nights as well. We are staying at http://waihekehostel.co.nz/. It should be very relaxing. Sometime during this 6 days we plan on buying a car or campervan to get us around the north and south island. We will keep you posted on that one.

From here we are travelling up to the Bay of Islands and then we will play it by ear. We definitely know that we are meeting my mom on Feb. 22 in Blenheim and staying with one of her high school friends who lives there. We will be celebrating my mom's birthday on Feb. 26 and then she will come with us for a month to explore the South Island!

We are flying from Christchurch to Melbourne, A.U. on March 22nd. We just bought our tickets for $115 each! The exchange rate was awesome the other day when we made the purchase. We will then spend 2 weeks in Melbourne, 2 weeks in Tasmania, 2 weeks in Adelaide and Kangaroo Island (Tim's mom is coming for the this portion of the trip!!), 1 week in the Blue Mountains, then we will travel up the coast at our leisure to Brisbane, Fraser Island, The Whitsunday Islands, Cairns and Port Douglas. This is the plan so far, but you never know where the wind may blow us!

New Years Eve in Sydney, Australia

Our dreams are coming true!!! We are only 28 days away from New Years in Sydney. We leave L.A. on Dec. 29th and will arrive in Sydney on Dec. 31 around noon. Meaghan said she is going to take some sleeping pills for a long ass flight. It sounds like a good idea.
